AEROSPACE COATINGS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY-
ACI Tech

Welcome
If you have been searching for a path to distinguish yourself as a technical professional serving within the aerospace coatings industry.... CONGRATULATIONS, you have found it! ACI Tech is the original Aerospace Coatings Application Specialist (ACAS) training program that fully and unequivocally conforms to the SAE AS7489 specification. SAE AS7489 is the international aerospace industry standard in establishing the mission critical knowledge, skills, and abilities required for ACAS personnel to possess in order to be recognized as technically competent in the discipline of aviation-grade coatings surface preparation and application. Any aircraft paint "training" program certificate that isn't linked to the industry standard is likely not worth the paper that it is printed on because it doesn't assure employers, customers, or aircraft passengers of anything definitive in regards to what you should know or what you are actually capable of doing. At ACI-Tech our training programs are defined by and directly linked to SAE AS7489 and therefore, there is absolutely no ambiguity surrounding what you should know or be capable of doing as a certified ACAS, once you have successfully completed any of the ACI-Tech training programs. Our sole focus is Aerospace Coatings and the Aviation industry. While it is often argued that surface preparation and coatings application is virtually the same for every type of industrial discipline, we strongly disagree! Due to the complexity of the materials and processes associated with coating something as sophisticated as an aircraft, we understand that this is NOT the same scope of work found in structural steel, marine, concrete, or other applications.
Unlike other ACAS training programs available today, ACI-Tech training programs are exclusively recognized and accredited by FAA and are eligible for Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) credits upon successful completion. That's the ACI-Tech difference. Welcome!
How it works...
The SAE AS7489 Aerospace Coatings Application Specialist (ACAS) program is structured in such a way where the training and the certification components are separated and administered by different entities. In other words, you enroll in and successfully complete the training portion of the program by an approved training provider, such as ACI-Tech, and then you become eligible to take the certification exam (and for Course II-V the required practical examination) from an approved Certifying Agency such as CertTEC or Probitas. Upon successful completion of the training portion of the program, if taken through ACI-Tech, you are immediately eligible to receive the FAA AMT credits by logging onto the FAAst website, clicking on "Activities" and searching for ACI: https://www.faasafety.gov/login/
The reason that there is a division between the training provider and the certifying agency is to ensure that the integrity of the SAE AS7489 initiative is maintained with absolutely no bias or susceptibility for conferring ACAS credentials in an unethical manner. Any ACAS program that provides both the training and the "certification" of knowledge, skills, or abilities is suspect of being fraudulent because there is an apparent conflict of interest when the training provider is also certifying your knowledge, skills, and abilities based upon the training they provided.

Unlock boundless opportunities in the aerospace industry with the Aerospace Coatings Institute of Technology. Our SAE AS7489 Certification, accredited by CertTEC and Probitas, is an essential requirement for all aspiring professionals in the field. Discover a world of possibilities and take your career to new heights with our comprehensive program.
